February 2026 - Event on the Bologna Digital Twin, in Bologna

On the 13th of February, I’ll be in Bologna, at Spazio Filla in Montagnola, for an interesting event on the Bologna Digital Twin. The technology promises to help the administration in taking informed decisions that will impact the citizens’ life - where to erect a new building, where to open a new supermarket, etc. The Digital Twin, then, would represent the citizens themselves as a group, having modelled when they move, how, and where they go. But the question is: who are these citizens they modelled? Can we trust the data to really represent everyone? As we all know, technology can present bias towards minorities, which in this case would be women, minors, disabled people and cyclist. The Digital Twin should not substitute a real democratic process, where everyone has a voice, and this is exactly the point that the Pianeta association is fighting for.

April 2026 - Online seminar for the University of Jyväsklä

I’ll be presenting a seminar for the Department of Language & Communication Studies of University of Jyväsklä on ChatGPT and bullshit. It will be on April 13, at 4 pm Italian time. Registrations are already open!
